Hello! We're Roller Derby City, a skater owned and operated business, based in Plymouth, Devon in the South West of England. We started out back in 2010 when our founder Slams, who was already running a small printing company with her husband Dave, took up roller derby. We made some merch for our local team, Plymouth City Roller Derby, and posted it up on our social media. Word grew across the roller derby community and we began to get enquiries from skaters and teams across the UK, so we decided to create Roller Derby City - a place that focussed on meeting the needs of teams, skaters and officials. Over the years we've grown as the roller derby community has - developing new products as and when people ask for them, and we now supply around 350 teams across the UK, Europe and beyond.
WHAT WE DO
We aim to make everything that skaters, officials, coaches and others involved in roller derby need in terms of clothing that they wear on and off the track. This includes scrimmage shirts, team uniforms, officials shirts, helmet covers, arm bands and more. If you don't see what you need in our web store then please get in touch - and if we can make it, we will.
We make everything right here at RDC in Plymouth, which means not only can you be assured that your clothing is made within ethical working conditions, but that when we agree to a deadline with you, we stick to it.
SUPPORT LOCAL ROLLER DERBY
Being skater owned and operated means that supporting the roller derby community is at the heart of what we do. Until Covid, our focus was on supporting roller derby events and tournaments, because events like this are brilliant ways of growing our sport. Once teams are able to start playing games and hosting tournaments, we look forward to supporting them again.
THE FUTURE
We've been able to grow as business thanks to the support we've received from the community and now our product development is nearly all customer led. If you'd like us to make products that we're not currently doing then we'd love to hear from you! We want to make sure we meet the needs of everyone involved in roller derby and we can only do this with your help.
